windsurfing holidays in Isla De Coche - Margarita
Isla de Coche is a tiny island is just 8 kms south of El Yaque, across the straits from the main island. On the western edge is San Pedro, one of the oldest villages in South America, here the pure white sand stretches in to the distance, like a dazzling white ribbon, running along the sparkling blue water, almost inseparable to the eye, from azure skies above.
Vast areas of this island are uninhabited, empty beaches are a common find and wild donkeys roam scrub covered terrain, the view enhanced only by flowering cacti and the gentle rolling hillside beyond.
The wind blasts across the salt flats, at the western end of Isla de Coche where the land rises only a few metres above sea level, producing remarkable sailing conditions. This hide-away island offers simple, unsophisticated pleasures, soft sand beneath bare feet, wind in your kite and adrenaline pumping through your body! Untypical of anywhere else in the Caribbean, a perfect place to relax.
