windsurfing holidays in Psaldi - Kos
The main port and islands capital is Kos Town, a place of architectural beauty, abundant greenery, tree lined avenues and pretty flower filled squares. You will find the hub of island life here, under a shady palm, in one of the many restaurants, bars and shops.
The ‘Meltemi’ wind blows consistently in the summer, from the north/northwest, delivering a cross shore wind from the left. The average strength is force 4-6, with some days up to 7-8 in July and August.
Once past the slight shore break, this affords sensational slalom blasting, whilst on the outside, the wind creates swell up to a metre in height.
The Big Blue Surf Centre, situated on the sandy beach, is friendly and well organized, having a range of over 50 Fanatic boards and Neil Pryde rigs. The center offers tuition at all levels, but Psaldi is really best suited to intermediate and advanced windsurfers.
