Much more than strong winds have affected these islands over the years, some are stamped indelibly with British rule, dating back to the days of slavery in the sugar plantations, whilst others have a heavy Spanish and French influence. Then Margarita, Antigua and the Dominican Republic where conditions can be heavenly, at various times in this diverse tropical climate. The lesser known islands like Tobago and St Lucia offer exclusivity, if you are searching for something a little more special.
